1. Data Provided By You
Registration
When creating an account, you fill in a form which includes your username, email address, and a password. In case you register through social media (e.g. Google, Facebook), we also store the information required to sign in through that and use it for no other purpose.
Your email address and password are stored securely and will be used for future logins, and the same goes for the social media logins. We use your email for sending occasional updates. If we received your consent, we may also send occasional promotional mails.
Profile
You can provide additional information when editing your profile, such as a bio, links to your sites, and more. These are all optional, and you can at any time change them.
This information is only used for display. You have control (and responsibility) over what kind of information you wish to share.
Skill progress
In QuirkLife, you can track your personal progress on various life skills and experiences. Additionally, you may choose to upload photos and post about your progress.
This information is not (knowingly) shared to any third party and is only stored for functional reasons. Users can configure how much of this may be shared on their public profile.
Do we collect personal identifying information?
QuirkLife does not intentionally ask, collect, or track any identifying information. However, please be aware that we have no control over personal information such as your name in your username, email address, photos, or in other places.
2. Data Collected Automatically
Page popularity
We anonymously keep track of the popularity of pages so we can improve them over time. This includes metrics such as page views and time spent.
Cookies
Our own cookies
We do not use our own cookies to track users. They have the sole purpose of providing functionality to the site. This may not apply to our third party cookies, however.
Third Party Services
We use Google ReCAPTCHA during account registration to protect against automated abuse and spam. ReCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information, such as device and application data, and sends this data to Google for analysis. The information collected by ReCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. By using our registration service, you acknowledge and accept Google's data collection practices as outlined in their privacy policy.
We do not use cookies or other tracking technologies for analytics or advertising purposes. Our cookies are strictly functional and necessary for the operation of the website, such as maintaining your login session.
3. Children Under 13
Our website is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not provide any information on this website.
4. Dispute Resolution
If you have any complaints or unresolved privacy or data use concerns that we have not addressed satisfactorily, please contact us first. We try our best to comply with regulations and private concerns.
5. Privacy Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as necessary to reflect changes we make and satisfy legal requirements. We make regular changes in the beginning to keep track of all the laws, but once stable in the future, we will provide a two week notice before any further changes go into effect.
